Nearly four and a half months after Russell Martin's initial media briefing as Rangers head coach, successor the German coach met with the media at Ibrox for the initial occasion.

The scale of the task ahead of him is well known, given Martin's turbulent and disappointing four-month spell.

The former Sheffield Wednesday manager was accompanied by club chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the much-criticized duo of sporting director Thelwell and chief executive Patrick Stewart.

However, what exactly was revealed from the 36-year-old coach's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

The Manager's Main Priority - Winning is Everything

One thing came through loud and clear from the new coach's first appearance in front of the local press - he understands the necessity to win matches, and achieve this rapidly.

His predecessor Russell Martin lasted only 17 matches and four months in charge, so the inquiry emerged about how long Rohl believes is reasonable to turn around the underperforming squad.

Although deftly sidestepping a specific response that could bring later expectations, the coach's communication was quite clear.

"Hopefully very quickly," he stated. "This is essential.
"In football you have not much time. You can discuss future plans but it's understood it's about the short-term and the short-term involves securing victories. This is what I demand.
"Another aspect is also clear - I need all players to understand how we want to play. I return to my primary theme: victory comes first, it's attractive and unity. By following this order, I'm convinced that I'll stay for years at the club."

Pressure is Standard

The previous manager needed a police escort to leave the stadium after his last game in charge.

We've seen how hostile environments can turn at football clubs when performances decline. Protests have nearly become a regular aspect of the matchday experience on both sides of Glasgow currently.

As the club's most youthful manager in history, the question asked about what qualities Rohl believes he has that would enable him to cope, let alone excel, in among the highest-pressure roles in UK soccer?

"In my opinion pressure in this business is normal," he stated. "You must learn that rapidly.
"I believe some people might mention my youth but I have been a decade and a half in this career. I experienced an excellent opportunity to be at Bayern Munich and serve as just the assistant manager, but I experienced the reality to be a head coach and the pressure you face.
"When you start winning games and then certain people claim you need to produce entertaining soccer. That's the next phase but precisely what I want. I enjoy that challenge and I look forward for the future."

Thelwell Explains Chermiti Signing & Hiring Family Member

The media pack had numerous inquiries from journalists for Thelwell.

Significant attention has concerned the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as recruitment chief, with supporters unconvinced about his qualifications for the position.

However, he defended and explained the decision to bring Thelwell Jnr to the club.

"It remains awkward to hear and in appearance I think everyone understood when we took this step to hire him that he'd be seen negatively," Thelwell stated.
"The truth of the situation is that we aim to attract the top talent to this club.
"My view on his professional path and background is he didn't need family help in football.
"He served at Villa as head scout, he then joined Norwich as scouting chief and then was elevated to player pathways manager.
"Prior to our hiring him, two top division clubs sought to acquire him. Our approach right at the beginning of proceedings was discuss with Patrick, Andrew and vice-chairman Marathe about this situation.
"I was extremely transparent and I think Robbie probably underwent a stricter procedure than any other who's employed by the team.
"What I do know is that he will work constantly to be successful for this football club and I anticipate seeing him proving that he'll become a valuable staff member for the club."

Additionally, Thelwell supported the acquisition of striker Youssef Chermiti, who joined Rangers for an alleged initial fee of £8m, after failing to score in 24 games for Everton.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portuguese youth international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - again for large funds in a fifteen million pound deal.

He was asked if he supports his multi-million pound purchase, who is yet to register in seven outings for Rangers.

"Absolutely, completely," Thelwell responded. "I think Youssef Chermiti represents who's got huge potential.
"I haven't doubted him in any way. Similarly, I believe Danny will help to get the best out of the player.
"It's very initial stages for the young player, he's a young talent and naturally with young talents they occasionally require patience.
"But I'm certain over the course of his career here he's going to prove that he is highly capable footballer."

Stewart Acknowledges Supporters' Disappointment and Anger

The chief executive was facing scrutiny, given the vitriol that has been directed at him by some of the club's fans.

There was even a sign in the stadium during the recent draw with Dundee United suggesting Stewart - and the sporting director - to depart before they were packed for them.

Like his sporting director, Stewart didn't avoid the topic.

"I completely understand the disappointment and anger that fans are feeling because results recently haven't been good enough and nobody's happy with them," he stated.
"The pain and frustration fans experience is matched within the leadership.
"Recognize that there has to be an outlet for those frustrations and as chief executive, I'm responsible.
"I serve as focal point for such issues and my responsibility as a
